History

Our fellowship began in 1956, as a result of a few Christians meeting together in homes, then as a building became available, we decided to make use of that opportunity. The original building was part of a group of small farm outbuildings joined to the main house, on the corner of New Farm Road and what was, at the time, the A31.

There have been alterations and additions over the years, and now the building has multi room facilities used for the various activities during the week.

What we believe

We believe The Bible to be God's revealed message to the whole of mankind, concerning Himself, His Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, and the gift for every believer of the Holy Spirit to help us day by day. We learn in the Bible also about God's love, and how we can and should have faith in His Son, Jesus Christ, and how we can know the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit. The Bible is relevant for our present times, speaking into our personal and family lives, as well as world affairs.

The Bible teaches us about the birth, life, teaching and miracles of Jesus Christ; His death on the cross, His burial and resurrection.....about His appearances to many people after His resurrection and His Ascension back to Heaven. Through our personal faith in Jesus, we can receive God's forgiveness, and the free gift of eternal life, and the certainty of Heaven in God's presence.

We are also told that Jesus will come again, and that there will be 'signs' to tell us when this time is near.

The future

The Bible teaches that Israel, whatever her current situation is, will be restored to complete faith in God at the 2nd Coming of Messiah to Earth. Luke 1:32,33 says ''The Lord God will give to Him the Throne of His father, David; and He shall reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His Kingdom, there shall be no end.''

The restoration of Israel to true faith in God, and the establishment of the Messianic Millennial Kingdom, is confirmed by many Old Testament Scriptures.

Bible prophecy must be carefully discerned, and that only through the careful reading of Scripture, under the guidance and help of the Holy Spirit. For instance, we can refer to Jeremiah 31, Ezekiel 36-39, Daniel, the Minor Prophets.

The New Testament is not silent on these matters: for instance, Jesus in Matthew 19:28; the Apostle Peter in Acts 3:19-21; Romans chapters 9-11, and not least of course to understand the present times The Book of The Revelation.

The reading of some books about The Bible can be helpful, but nothing can substitute for the reading of Scripture alone. It is God's Word to and for us- for information, inspiration, instruction and reproof -1 Timothy 3:15-17.

We live in times approaching the time of The Tribulation, when terrible times will come on the earth and its people, as a result of man's rebellion against God.

It is therefore essential that we heed The words of the Apostle Paul, when he addressed the crowds in Athens: ''..God commands all men everywhere to repent: Because He has appointed a day, in which He will judge the world in righteousness by that One Man whom He has ordained; whereof He has given assurance unto all men in that He has raised Him from the dead.'' Acts 17:30,31.

Please think carefully about these things, and get in touch to talk about how to be right with God.

Who we are

We are a mix of ordinary people, some with families, extended families and singles.

Varied backgrounds and family situations are represented in the church, but we all have a common bond, being one in our faith in Jesus Christ. Visitors will always receive a warm welcome and we would love to see more become involved.

New Farm Chapel is an independent fellowship of Christians, who believe The Bible as the inspired word of God as thoroughly trustworthy, authoratative and sufficient for all our needs, as it points us to the Lord Jesus Christ.

We offer a warm welcome to all who attend our services. We also welcome fellow Christians for mutual fellowship in our Lord Jesus, and in His Service.

Leadership

We believe in the Bible model of Elders and Deacons to look after the spiritual and practical needs of the fellowship
